Vice Chancellor's Message

I welcome all students heartily to the City University of Windhoek (CUW), a new private university in Namibia. We expect you to get busy and engage in interactive learning the moment you arrive. This will ensure your success and achievement at the end of your journey at this university. Your admission to CUW marks the beginning of a new chapter in your life. You will be exposed to a diverse array of ideas, perspectives, and experiences.

CUW is a hands-on university, so, while here, you will immerse yourself in creating things that will distinguish you and creating space within which you will operate, innovating ideas that will set you apart from students elsewhere, and you will engage in developing things and artefacts  that will grip and characterise your attention throughout your period at CUW and in your chosen career or activity thereafter. At CUW creativity is contagious. We expect you to become a transformation agent in Namibia and beyond.

CUW is a green university. In this light, also, you will learn to conserve the environment and enjoy the benefits of its cleanliness.

Thus far, the university has three faculties, namely, Computer Science, Business Administration, and Postgraduate Studies and continues to grow in leaps and bounds. CUW offers for-the-future-education. Our qualifications and courses therefore prepare you for the challenges you are bound to meet in the real world of work and how to get to grips with them.

CUW also offers short courses in several Computer Science and Business Administration disciplines. In addition, special 6-months conversion, reskilling, upskilling, and special training programmes are offered.

Several short courses tailor-made to serve individual sector needs as identified by both industry and academia are also offered.

The strength of our qualifications is the requirement that every student must engage in a productive 6-months internship programme. Within the first two years or so, the university will run internship locally, in Namibia. Beyond this period, students will engage in internship locally or internationally. Our partners have already mentioned this reality. For this purpose, fitting academic regulations will be framed/crafted.

You expect to be busy as soon as you arrive. In this endeavour, our passionate and committed administrative and academic staff and I will support you in your journey, all the way, to your graduation. Yours  is indeed a journey of exploration, self-discovery, and personal growth.

Welcome to our academic family; the City University of Windhoek.
