Pro Vice Chancellor's Welcome
I am pleased to welcome you to the City University of Windhoek, where you will find innovative undergraduate degree programmes and world-class research centres. Our university is at the forefront of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) education in Southern Africa with our up-to-date programmes, offering the latest developments in research and technology. A diverse array of research and scholarly activities can be found in our university.
Our Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor, Bachelor Honours, Masters and PhD programmes will provide students the opportunity to study with world-renowned professors, who are strongly committed to their roles as teachers and scholars. A spirit of exploration, discovery, creativity, and innovation will unite the work of our professors and undergraduate students, whether they will probe the fundamental questions in their specific disciplines or apply new knowledge, often through novel interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to solving some of the most challenging problems of our time.
As a CUW student, you will find yourself in a truly unique position as a student and researcher. You will spend some of the most challenging and fulfilling years of your life immersed in a compelling academic environment, working alongside remarkable teachers, and researchers to broaden knowledge, advance discoveries, and make original and substantial contributions to your discipline. Our programmes are designed so that you get to experience hands-on and industry practice through our Work Integrated Learning (WIL). By linking theory to practice, our students will use their intellectual talents to improve the lives of others and meet the intellectual, social, cultural, and physical needs of our global society.
Serving as the Pro Vice-Chancellor: Research, Academic Affairs, Innovation, and Development, it is my privilege to work closely with you to prepare you to be great thinkers, leaders, inventors, collaborators, and life-long learners.
I invite you to join us and discover for yourself the power and potential of STEAM education at the City University of Windhoek. I have an open-door policy; so please do not hesitate to contact me or stop by my office if you have any questions, concerns or feedback.
I wish you great success in your educational journey. The future is yours.
